Paul Mahoney attended Duke University where he majored in Political Science. He was a member of the varsity lacrosse team serving as team captain his senior year. He was selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference lacrosse team in 1989. Paul then attended Duke University School of Law, which is one of the top ten schools in the country. He graduated in 1993 and joined the Mahoney Law Firm. He is admitted to practice in the Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He is a member of both the American Association for Justice and the Colorado Trial Lawyers' Association.
Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children (including a set of twins). His hobbies include hockey, skiing and tennis.
