Car slams into house, injures grandfather

People who are sleeping in their bedrooms don't expect to be involved in late-night car accidents, but that's exactly what happened to a grandfather and a young teen in Douglas County, Colorado, on Oct. 5th. A car slammed into their home, breaking the wall and throwing debris all across the room.

The grandfather, who is 70 years old, was hurt in the crash. The teen, who is 13, did not suffer any injuries.

Pictures from the scene show a small silver car stopped right next to a window with white shutters. The red brick wall of the house is shattered by the front end of the car, which is crumpled. Airbags can be seen inside the vehicle.

When asked about it, the teen said that it was unbelievable. He also noted that, as the accident happened, they had no clue what was going on.

The person who was driving the car is 20 years old, and police are investigating with the suspicion that he was drunk during the accident. He could face charges for assault, reckless driving, careless driving that led to an injury and more.

The grandfather does seem to be expected to be all right. Speculation is that a brick may have hit him as it flew from the wall. He did need to go to the hospital to get treatment, but reports show that he left only a few hours later.

Things like this are never expected, but they can absolutely happen when people drive dangerously and under the influence. Those who have been injured must know what rights they have to compensation for those injuries.
