2 hospitalized after Colorado crash near Fort Collins

On Behalf of | Feb 18, 2015 | Car Accidents

Two men were hospitalized after their trucks collided at an intersection near Fort Collins. A man driving a red Chevrolet Silverado truck attempted to turn left off Highway 1 onto Larimer County Road 58 when the man collided with a Ford F-150 truck in the intersection.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, at which point the man who drove the Chevy truck was airlifted via Air Link helicopter to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. It was reportedly not immediately clear whether the man responsible for driving the Chevy truck was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The man who drove the Ford truck sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital for treatment.

Emergency crews reported extensive front-end damage to both vehicles involved in the accident, thus requiring additional crews for help with cleanup. Additionally, more emergency crews helped with landing the helicopter and getting the patient safely and quickly inside the hospital for treatment. The patient was expected to make a full recovery.

An individual who is involved in an automobile accident may be wise to consult a personal injury attorney to ensure a smooth and desirable outcome to an otherwise undesirable situation. An attorney could help with proper and thorough documentation of injuries and accident-related matters for adequate compensation from one’s insurance company. A personal injury lawyer can be beneficial for a number of reasons including experience with car insurance companies, knowledge of the law, understanding of accident-related injuries, and court experience.
