Children live through a car accident, thanks to the seat belts

On Behalf of | Sep 24, 2015 | MVA/Car Accidents

Two young girls are alive and well, with just some minor injuries, after a two-car wreck in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The emergency response team that came to the scene of the crash says that the only reason they can make that claim is that they were both buckled in. The police chief didn’t say the girls would have passed away without the seat belts, but that they could have been hurt much more seriously.

As it stands, two adults who were also in the wreck did suffer from serious injuries. They were rushed to an area hospital, and they have now been listed as in stable condition. Still, they were much more significantly hurt than the girls, and authorities don’t know if they had their seat belts on or not.

Reports indicate that one individual did end up trapped in the vehicle, and the response team had to free that person at the site. These reports did not say if the trapped person was an adult or one of the two girls, though the injury reports do provide some clues.

The crash happened right around noon on Thursday, September 24, at the intersection where Memorial and Union come together, right by Memorial Park. As of now, there is no word on what caused the crash or who was at fault, as the investigation is not yet complete.
