Actor James Woods took to Twitter to describe a frightening car accident in Colorado. The accident happened on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon on Monday, Dec. 14.
According to Woods, another driver was going more than 75 mph when the vehicle spun out. In order to avoid hitting the spinning car, Woods hit a wall next to the highway. After Woods struck the wall, his vehicle started sliding backwards at about 60 mph.
He struck a guardrail, which stopped his Jeep Grand Cherokee from going over the edge. Had his vehicle gone over the steep cliff, it would have fallen 100 feet into the Colorado River.
The actor said that there were six vehicles involved in the accident. However, another source reported that there were seven vehicles involved.
Woods had nothing but praise for the emergency crews that worked the accident, including the firefighters, police and tow truck drivers. He said that he had suffered a “little concussion,” got which he was treated for at a local emergency room.
The winter weather had iced over the roadway, making it slick for motorists. This is a common occurrence in Colorado and Wyoming during the winter months. Those who are injured in accidents that are no fault of their own may need to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, emotional trauma, pain and suffering and much more.
An attorney can help you understand how the personal injury process works and how you can seek compensation through a civil lawsuit. In some cases, your attorney could be able to negotiate a settlement with the other party’s insurance company.
