Crashes that appear to involve only one vehicle at first may actually involve another vehicle. Further investigation of the scene may provide evidence of a hit-and-run. This happens in at least some of Colorado’s motorcycle accidents that are blamed on rider error at first.
Fortunately, there appear to have been witnesses to a recent hit-and-run that seriously injured a motorcycle rider. When police arrived at the scene and saw only the motorcycle, witnesses were there who made it clear that there was another vehicle involved. Reports did not indicate whether any evidence from the vehicle was found at the scene.
The investigation remained open at last report since the vehicle and driver had not yet been found. The accident occurred at the intersection of N. Murray Blvd. and E. Platte Ave. in Colorado Springs at around 9 a.m. on a Monday morning. The investigation has revealed that as the motorcycle traveled north on Murray Blvd., the missing vehicle exited a gas station and slammed into the motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
While police search for the vehicle and driver involved, the motorcycle rider may be struggling with his or her recovery. Depending on the nature and severity of the injuries, it could take a substantial amount of time. During that time, medical bills and other expenses will probably pile up, and the victim may not be able to work either. Once the missing driver is located, it may be possible to recover those and other damages sought after motorcycle accidents through the filing of a personal injury claim.
