The Link Between Roundup And Cancer

Farmers and home gardeners have been using Roundup Weed and Grass Killer for over 40 years. Unfortunately, studies have only recently linked the chemicals in Roundup to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The maker of Roundup, Monsanto, denies the product is harmful. A California jury disagreed in 2018 and awarded $280 million dollars to a man with the cancer. In March 2019, another jury concluded that Roundup caused another man’s cancer.

If you have received a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and used Roundup in the past, call The Mahoney Law Firm, P.C., at 303-800-3168 for a free consultation with an attorney regarding your rights.

How Roundup Affects People

Glyphosate is the chemical in Roundup linked to cancer diagnoses. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) studies cancer for the World Health Organization. After years of research, IARC found that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans” in 2015. They connected the weed killer to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph system. They found that different levels of exposure may affect people in different ways. Exposure can happen either through breathing it or skin contact.

Understanding Symptoms Of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

The lymph system runs throughout your body and helps your body’s immune system, which fights infection and disease. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymph system, and can start anywhere in your body. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma may create the following symptoms:

  • Weight loss for no reason
  • Night sweats
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Swollen belly
  • Chest pain or shortness of breath
  • Chills and/or fever
  • Fatigue

Please note that illnesses other than cancer can cause many of these symptoms. Only a doctor can properly diagnose you with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
